Irene Clark 1927-1984

Irene Clark (1927-1984) was an American artist who trained at the Art Institute of Chicago. Born in Washington, DC, Clark’s career as an artist began to gain traction while working for the Works Projects Administration (WPA) in Chicago in 1939. Clark then trained in screen printing with William McBride at the South Side Community Art Center. After moving to California, Clark exhibited in 1968 at the Oakland Museum, where her work is now featured in the permanent collection.
