Along the Trail, 1925
LaVerne Nelson Black (1887-1939) was an American painter. He is known for his time spent in Taos, where he often depicted the nomadic traditions of the Navajo and Apache peoples. Following his time in Taos, he moved to Phoenix, where he worked as an illustrator. His paintings can be found in the permanent collections of museums such as the Smithsonian American Art Museum.
